The North America Regional Office in Washington, D.C. is composed of two pillar programs. The Transatlantic Dialogue Program fosters political dialogue among political, business, scientific and cultural multipliers from the US, Canada and Germany and develops innovative liberal approaches and solutions to transatlantic issues. The World Order and Globalization Hub fosters dialogue among political, business and scientific multipliers by encouraging increased mutual understanding within the global economic landscape. Both initiatives seek to facilitate a transfer of knowledge among experts in order to make a worldwide contribution to social and economic progress.

The delegates included Members of Parliament, Policy Advisors, Engineers, Economists, and Entrepreneurs.

The Impact of US and China Green Protectionism on Global South Countries.
In collaboration with the Global South in the World Order Project of the Stimson Center in Washington, DC, the think tank produced a detailed policy paper on the topic "Great Power Competition and Green Protectionism: The Impact of the US-China Trade War on Global South Countries." Following the publication of this paper, we had the opportunity to further explore the topic in a virtual round table discussion.

2024 Harvard German-American Conference
Between November 15th and 17th of 2024, the German-American Conference at Harvard University celebrated its 16th iteration to discuss the most important topics of the day in transatlantic affairs. The Friedrich Naumann Foundation’s North America Office acted as a conference sponsor and hosted Dr. Werner Hoyer, President of the Institute for European Policies and former President of the European Investment Bank, who took part as a panelist.

A Strategy Roadmap for German-US Relations After 2024
The relationship between Germany and the United States is one of the most significant to have emerged out of the post-war order. Against this backdrop, the Trump administration’s approach to transatlantic relations came as a shock to many on the German side. Trump debate and speculations on the outcome in November, key policies related to campaigning also shaped conversations of the week. Notable topics and policies the group touched upon were: voter registration, mail-in ballot policies, voter ID laws, early voting, campaign finance regulation, and the role of the Electoral College.

Study Tour: Campaigning for Democracy
The World Order and Globalization Hub welcomed its twenty-second delegation in September, consisting of nine professionals in politics. The delegation comprised of participants representing Chile, Costa Rica, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, India, Lebanon, Slovakia, and Thailand. The delegates included Chiefs of Staff, Advisors, Party Leaders, Campaign Managers, Communications Experts, and Elected Officials. The eight-day study tour focused on campaigning and elections in the context of democracy, and took place in Washington, D.C., Lansing, Michigan and Detroit, Michigan.
